I
grind ATS 34 and 154 CM stainless steels. I find these
two steels to be outstanding performers, providing both
ductility
and excellent edge retention. Both are highly corrosion resistant
and provide high performance under adverse environmental
conditions.
Most
of my stainless blades are created with a hand rubbed satin
finish. I also offer a bead blasted finish or acid etched
finish. I prefer a darker or non reflective finish on boot and
tactical knives.
My
stainless steel knives normally feature a full tang. The
smaller models may feature bolsters whereas the larger styles
may feature bolsters both front and rear.
I
typically use 5/32 or 3/16 stock for my stainless steel
blades. Bolsters are 303, 304, or 416 stainless steel, unless
I use brass. I do not intend to use brass after my current
supply of brass is exhausted. I finally realized that my
strong dislike for polishing brass stems from 3 years in the
Marine Corps. However, brass will be available upon request.
